ALIYA AMIROVA, PhD
Aliya Amirova is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Population Health Sciences, King's College London, where she investigates stroke incidence trends, multimorbidity, and health disparities using large-scale longitudinal datasets. Her interdisciplinary research bridges health psychology, digital health, and behavioral science to address complex public health challenges.
Aliya earned her PhD in Health Psychology from City University of London in 2021, where she carried out research informing the theory-based physical activity interventions for older adults using mixed-methods approaches. She has a strong background in designing and evaluating digital interventions to improve physical and mental health outcomes.
At the Institute of Psychology, Psychiatry, & Neuroscience (IoPPN), King's College London, Aliya studied the impact of discrimination on health outcomes in older adults, focusing on pathways linking physical and mental health. Her work incorporates behavioral frameworks and advanced quantitative methods to inform the design of scalable health interventions.
Aliya’s current interests include exploring how physical activity and interoceptive accuracy can improve mental health outcomes, such as anxiety and depression, particularly in vulnerable populations. Her research aims to develop innovative, patient-centered interventions to enhance quality of life for individuals living with chronic conditions, including cancer survivors.
